During a time of protests and unrest, two animals showed the crowds on Wall Street in New York City how to get along even when you come from entirely different backgrounds. An interaction between a French bulldog and an on-duty police horse captivated the audience around them, and then the world when the video of the meeting went viral.
A passerby, YouTuber ubermongolianbeef, took video of the unique and heartwarming meeting, which took place during the Occupy Wall Street protests. “I saw this on my walk back to the office from lunch. It was a nice contrast to the perception everyone has of the NYPD in the area due to the Occupy Wall Street camp nearby," ubermongolianbeef stated.
The dog's owner had been walking the streets when she wandered over toward the chestnut police horse, and that's when the fun began!
At first, the woman's dog was very tentative and hesitant around the horse, and who could blame the pup? There's a significant size difference between the two animals! Slowly, the dog inched closer until it touched the horse's muzzle. The horse, calm and serene, ducked its head to take a sniff at the dog.
Once an initial friendship had been established, the French Bulldog decided that this big horse would make a perfect playmate. The dog began to jump up towards the horse and spin in circles of happiness. The horse watched the dog in bemusement the entire time.
The crowd that gathered around these two sweet souls had the chance to see two different species greet each other with respect and kindness, a good lesson for human beings to learn.
